This practicum program aims to cultivate Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) with advanced medical care knowledge and skills, enhancing their understanding of family nursing practice issues. Conducted within government-approved qualified training hospitals, this practicum provides students with direct experience on development of a systematic methodology of identifying patients' needs for health care. The focus of the practicum is on assessment, on risk/risk development and on the subsequent management of selected health problems. Emphasis is on critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving. These skills are honed in clinical settings under guidance, showcasing students' progressive competence. Weekly discussions center on student-presented cases and relevant health topics. Through clinical practice, students acquire the necessary skills to provide advanced care in their role as Family Nurse Practitioners. Required for all Nurse Practitioner students in the second year of specialization with 9 clinical hours per week (3 credit hours).
